About

There’s a fine line between ‘living the dream’ and ‘mid-life crisis.’

Born and raised on the not-so-mean streets of Carlisle, I managed to escape the far north and have now lived in Sheffield, a more southern part of the north, for well over a decade. The Great Border City and the City of Steel both have their charms, but there comes a time in every man’s life when he has to take a good look at himself, wonder what lies beyond the horizon and decide to get up and get out of his comfort zone. Right after I’ve had a biscuit.

As my fiftieth birthday began to draw closer and closer, I resolved to start making up for wasted time and actually get up off my backside and start doing things. Some of the challenges that I’ve set for myself are not too hard, whereas others will take months, if not years, to complete. There will be laughter, there will be tears and there might even be a few broken bones along the way. Hopefully, there will also be some stories worth telling.

So, what do you think? Living the dream or mid-life crisis? Or could it be both?
